The United Way annual fundraising campaign is truly a community-wide effort.
Each year, more than 100 local workplaces participate in United Way of Carlton County’s Community Fundraising Campaign. This campaign supports local health and human service programs that create real, lasting change for individuals and families for a good quality of life throughout Carlton County.
Participating in the campaign is an excellent way to raise your organization’s public profile and build team spirit among your employees. And United Way makes it easy—with staff support, localized materials, a variety of pledging options, and exciting ideas for employee participation. What’s more, as a business leader, you can rest assured knowing that contributions to the United Way Campaign are invested carefully by a network of experienced volunteers, in programs that produce results in the areas of Education, Income, Health and Basic Needs.
Last year, thanks to local workplace and employee campaign contributions you:
- Helped 600 sexual abuse or domestic violence victims
- Provided 3,900 services to sexual abuse or domestic violence victims
- Helped 5,646 seniors stay in their own homes.
- Provided over 50,000 meals to in-need residents.
- Provided 57 individuals and families with emergency financial assistance to pay their rent, heat or electrical bills.
- Provided 311 girls the opportunity to experience Girl Scouting.
- Provided 263 boys the opportunity to experience Boy Scouting.
- Provided a safe environment for 3,624 individuals with mental health issues.
- Provided 1,907 opportunities for individuals with mental health issues to have healthy social interactions.
- Provided 93 youth the opportunity to experience educational, recreational, and social activities with positive adult role models.
- Provided a safe environment for 330 children.
- Provided 350 special and exceptional needs children with the opportunity to receive essential tutoring and mentoring.
- Provided 540 individuals with access to legal services
