We target the most critical problems and drive collaborations that produce meaningful results.
Community Action
Our United Way is in constant concert with local governments, chamber members, human service experts, agency directors, key community leaders and stakeholders to continually assess community needs.
Community Action Strategies are implemented many ways through:
- Community involvement, partnership and collaboration building
- Promoting Advocacy for individuals involved in United Way Partnerships
- Effective fund-raising and fund distribution process involving our community
- Targeted fund distribution to programs demonstrating fiscal and program effectiveness, which impact our community in positive ways.
- Implementing The Community Business Volunteer Council and Day of Caring in order to help Human Service Agencies get help from businesses and organizations on important projects that may not otherwise get done, due to lack of funding.
United Way of Carlton County currently has four priority target area of funding:
- Strengthen families, support child and youth development
- Meet the needs of those in crisis and emergency services
- Support programs for those with special needs
- Serve the needs of those over age 65
